Food Mealo

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Food Mealo when you use this website.

Last updated 1 August 2026

These terms apply every time you use Food Mealo. By placing an order or booking a table you accept them, so please read them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

Food Mealo is an online marketplace for ordering food and booking tables with independent restaurants and takeaways in the UK. "We", "us" and "our" mean Food Mealo. "You" means the person using the site. You can reach us any time at support@foodmealo.com or on live chat.

2. What Food Mealo actually does

We are a marketplace, not a restaurant. Independent restaurants and takeaways list their menus here. When you order, your contract for the food is with the restaurant. Our contract with you is to provide the platform: taking the order, passing it on, handling payment and supporting you if something goes wrong.

This matters in practice:

  • The restaurant is responsible for preparing your food, its quality, and the accuracy of its menu, allergen and dietary information.
  • Delivery is carried out by the restaurant or its own driver, and delivery areas, fees and minimum order values are set by each restaurant.
  • Prices, opening hours and availability are set by each restaurant and can change.

3. Using the site

  • You must be at least 18 to place an order.
  • Ordering and table bookings require an account, and we verify your mobile number by text. Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Give accurate contact and address details. Orders fail most often because a phone number or address is wrong.
  • Do not misuse the service: no fraudulent orders, no abuse of staff or restaurants, no attempt to break, scrape or overload the site.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

4. Orders

  • Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when the restaurant accepts it. Some restaurants accept automatically.
  • If a restaurant cannot fulfil your order, it may reject it. You will not be charged, or you will be refunded.
  • Estimated preparation and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees — kitchens and traffic vary.
  • Age-restricted items, where offered, require valid ID on delivery or collection. Without it the item will not be handed over and no refund is due for that item.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
  • Delivery fees, service charges and any booking fee are shown before you confirm.
  • Depending on the restaurant, you may pay cash on delivery or collection, or by card online where card payment is enabled.
  • Offers apply automatically when your basket qualifies. Where an offer has a minimum spend, it only applies once your basket reaches it. One offer applies per order unless stated.

6. Cancellations and refunds

These are set out in full in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we decide within 3 working days, and approved refunds reach you within 7 working days.

7. Table bookings

  • A booking request is confirmed only once the restaurant accepts it.
  • Where a booking fee applies it is shown before you confirm.
  • Please arrive on time. Tables may be released after a reasonable wait, and repeated no-shows may lead to bookings being refused.

8. Allergies and dietary requirements

Allergen and dietary labels come from the restaurant, and food is prepared in kitchens where cross-contamination is possible. If you have a serious allergy, contact the restaurant directly before ordering. We cannot guarantee any dish is free from a given allergen.

9. Reviews you write

  • Review only orders you actually placed, and keep it honest and lawful.
  • No abuse, false claims or personal information about staff.
  • We may remove reviews that break these rules, and you grant us a licence to display your review on the site.

10. Our liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that: we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. We are not responsible for the acts of a restaurant, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the site running but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and will give notice where reasonably possible.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here when you place your order, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
